What contacts data does Covve back up?

When you first signup to Covve from iPhone, Gmail or Exchange it will create a backup of your chosen addressbook. The vast majority of the details of each contact are backed up.

Some things to note that are specific to each address book type

Google contacts

When the contacts are restored, Google will attempt to parse addresses and split them into their various fields (country, state, etc).

The following fields are not currently backed up:

  • title
  • account
  • category
  • private
  • sensitivity

Also, the email display name is re-calculated by Exchange when the contacts are restored.

If you decide to restore your backup first consider whether the addressbook source itself provides a restore option. For example, Gmail and iCloud enable you to restore your contacts to a specific point in time.

Covve's restore functionality will restore your contacts to the state it was when you signed up. Any changes since then will be lost.
